Care for an animal during an uncertain time.
Foster volunteers for all domestic species are needed. Here’s what you need to know:
Due to the unpredictability of this situation, you may never be matched with an animal. But we want to be prepared. Your flexibility is appreciated.
We are not aware of any rescue operation caring for the beloved animals of people who have been kidnapped by the state. This is new territory.
We recognize that this federal occupation is impacting us all. Please think carefully about whether this is a commitment you want to make, given the many unknowns. These animals are already very stressed and need caregivers who can be present and responsive to their needs.
Adopting an animal makes room for another in need.
Whether you adopt from an organization providing a safe haven for animals harmed by ICE or you volunteer to foster, you’re helping to increase our collective capacity to respond to this community need at this time.

The Bond Between
The Bond Between (TBB) has been our biggest partner in this work, and they have a special respite care program that is designed to provide a sanctuary for beloved animal companions while their humans are getting into a more stable place. TBB is an incredible organization, and they would love to receive applications for dog and/or cat fosters. You can apply to be a regular foster parent, or you can apply to foster for their respite program.
Specific Needs:
Foster volunteers who have shy dog experience
Second Chance Animal Rescue
Second Chance has partnered with us on both dog and cat placement, and they could use more foster families and adopters to make room for increased demand in these difficult times.
MN Pocket Pet Rescue
MN Pocket Pet Rescue is accepting foster applicants to help provide a haven for small mammals in need of care.
